Artist Carly Morris 

Carly Morris (b.1979, Blackpool) is an artist who uses soft pencils, pastels and charcoal to render authentic portraits, figures, interiors and landscapes, exploring and contrasting visual elements in translating these subjects onto paper.

 

As a colourist working in oils, Morris employs a process of mark-making, layering, erasing and overpainting to create atmospheric and evocative works on canvas, often working directly from life, drawings and from the artists own photographs, always striving to express a sense of presence and emotional depth that extends beyond the photographic image.
